King County Bar Association - Lawyer Referral Service

Each year the LRS responds to nearly 50,000 callers, referring them to attorneys with experience in the right areas of law or to appropriate agencies able to provide assistance. The Lawyer Referral Service is a public service of the nonprofit King County Bar Association.

King County Bar Association - Neighborhood Legal Clinics
Neighborhood Legal Clinics are located throughout the King County area and provide a free half-hour consultation with an attorney. Attorneys determine whether the client has a legal problem, suggest possible options and provides appropriate referrals. However, attorneys do not represent clients in court or draft legal documents. These clinics address a wide variety of civil legal issues including family law, landlord/tenant, real estate and public benefits. There are specialty clinics in immigration, debtor/creditor, senior issues and domestic violence as well as clinics serving the Hispanic and Pan-Asian communities.
•Clients can call (206) 340-2593 from Monday to Thursday 9 a.m. to 12 noon to schedule an appointment at one our 22 clinics.
•The clinics are open to any resident of King County, regardless of income.

King County Bar Association - Volunteer Legal Services
Lawyer Referral Service, (206) 623-2551
The Volunteer Legal Services (VLS) refers clients to volunteer attorneys for direct representation dealing with a broad array of civil legal issues. Priorities for this program include housing, debt defenses, consumer issues, bankruptcy, public benefits and real estate - foreclosures, mortgage loan scams, estate planning and other senior issues and Native American legal issues.

Northwest Justice Project
Provides representation in selected housing, family, education, Native American, and King County public benefits cases. Their website also provides self-help materials on a wide range of legal topics.

Columbia Legal Services
Provides free civil legal services to people who are low-income or have special legal needs throughout Washington State.

Eastside Legal Assistance Program
Provides civil legal assistance to low-income residents of East and Northeast King County on a wide range of legal issues.

The UW School of Law operates a large number of clinics that provide access to legal information and advocacy.

ACRS provides a wide array of social and behavioral health services in a multicultural, multilingual setting.

Refugee Women's Alliance
REWA is a non-profit organization founded to support refugee and immigrant women and their families.

Northwest Women's Law Center
Provides legal assistance with family law, self-help, child support, domestic violence, and sexual harassment issues.

Welfare Rights Organizing Commission
WROC conducts welfare rights clinics and Know Your Rights workshops for low-income parents so they can understand the rules that govern the various subsidy programs and learn how to advocate for themselves within the DSHS system.

Washington State Bar Association - Consumer Information Pamphlets
The WSBA produces a series of consumer information pamphlets on various legal topics including bankruptcy, landlord-tenant, divorce, real estate, and consulting a lawyer.
